The 1986-2000 Wt. Index has a section under dates----Clarification of Beliefs. It lists 57 points of clarification from 1872 to 2000. Here's just a few examples of "NEW LIGHT".......1884...Sheep & the Goats....1923....the same....1995...the same........1925.....Armageddon....1926...the same....1929.....superior authorities....1962....the same......1935.....Chronology....1943...the same.....1944...the same.............In additional to obvious flip-flops, other theocratic clarification occured such as, 1947...polygamy.....1937..."other sheep" appointed to responsible positions and my all time favorite-----1992....the NETHINIM and SONS of the SERVANTS OF SOLOMON AFTER EXILE.......Isn't just wonderful how the LITE gets brighter and brighter?

HELLO MINIMUS,Clarification of Beliefs falls under Watchtower Euphemisms that refer to failed prophecies. For example: Clarification equals:

Errors = Mistakes = Misinterpretations = Misunderstandings = Premature Expectations = Mistakes in their Understanding = Matters on which Corrections of Viewpoints have been needed = Unrealized Hopes = Misplaced Expectations = Inaccurate Concepts = Views in need of Refinements = Serious Disppointments = Formerly Cherished Views . But, NEVER," FALSE PROPHECIES ".

All of these EUPHEMISMS have now been indexed as what you have brought to our attention,.......

CLARIFICATION OF BELIEFS....REALLY ! As always Minimus you are on top of your game.

Imagine responding to anyone's critical questions about Watchtower beliefs as merely a "clarification of beliefs, nothing more or less". It's so easy to sweep the ENTIRE history of the Society as just a mere "clarifcation". And the beauty of this is that it works! The average brain dead Witness doesn't even try to think about what they believe or had believed. They just go with the flow. Whatever the "faithful and diseased slave" says, is truth. Of course, not necessarily absolute truth, but the best revealed truth that we can have. It's a protective truth! It comes right from Jehovah to the angels and thru holy spirit too! And you got believe that whatever is being taught as truth, is that, as long as there are no other "clarifications" of the truth that Jehovah God omitted while he was transferring the "truth" via his various methods to imperfect men.......The more I type, the angrier I get!!!

How many remember the illustration used many times in public talks where the speaker had a glass of water on the podium. He would drop something into the water and tell the audience that he had dropped in cow manure or poison. Then he would invite the audience to drink from the glass.

He would say that was the same as having only a little bit of bad in ones beliefs and why Christendom has some redeeming teachings or practices but was contaminated by just have one false belief among all the good.

Thinking about minimus comment on "clarification" or "refinement" here are some definitions:

    Clarify

    1. To make clear or easier to understand; elucidate:
    clarified her intentions.
  • To clear of confusion or uncertainty:
  • clarify the mind.
  • To make clear by removing impurities
  • or solid matter, as by heating gently: clarify butter.

    Refine

    1. To reduce to a pure state; purify .
    1. To remove by purifying.
  • To free from coarse, unsuitable, or immoral characteristics
  • : refined his manners

The very fact that the teachings of the WTS have had to be "clarified" and "refined" means that they have been feeding JWs poison in the past. We can be sure that they are still feeding poison to JWs currently. Their own words below condemn the WTS.

    *** w97 4/15 30 Do You Eat Well Spiritually? ***

Taking in teachings infected by dangerous demonic ideas can poison us just as easily as can eating physical food that has been tainted with germs or toxins. (Colossians 2:8)

    *** w87 2/1 28 Do You Have an Inquiring Mind? ***

If you knew that a certain drink was poisonous, would you drink it out of curiosity to see what it tasted like, or to see whether your body was strong enough to handle the poison? Of course not.

Think about the flipflop doctrine of the superior authorities

    1879-1929 secular governments

    1929-1962 Jehovah and Jesus

    1962-2003 secular governments

Was the WTS taking poison out or putting it in from 1929-1962? If you disagreed, you would have been booted.

The leadership and direction of the Holy Spirit is faultess.

It is only when "some brothers" in the writing department put pen to paper that error creeps in.

Listen to the silence of The Holy Spirit.

    Ahhhhhhh... wasn't that perfect?

"If brothers wish to hum or invoke their personal mantras during meetings, it should be permitted." - Watchtower, April 1, 2004

Blondie, Would you please "clarify" your position?.......That was a very good explanation as to how we are systematically poisoned and left helpless to do anything about it.

I think a scripture that they consider to pertain to this phenomena is at Proverbs 4:18 . As far as testing the inspired expressions and such as the apostles stated I agree with you that they are not willing to be open minded about such things but instead resort to beating their fellow slaves and taking a position of judgement.

There is no such thing. The only clarification one might have is a realization that it's a belief, but other than that it's like saying "true falsehood." The key is the second word.

Mere clarification is no big deal to the Society. You didn't take that heart transplant? OOPS, sorry....Now there's clarification on this. You shouldn't have died! But at least you were faithful to JEHOVAH......ha!
