Lost My Job Part 2

Well, thought I give everyone an update on what's going on.

My landlord now knows I am out of a job and he's super pissed off. He's going to file in court this week Monday to have me evicted.

He called my dad yesterday wanting to know where his money is and dad told him I lost my job at Wal-Mart.

For those of you that may have missed my previous story, click here.

I never told him I lost my job because I am scared to death of him and been trying to find a new job since January 10th with no luck so far.

Larry Weeks, my landlord is a pretty mean guy and has a major foul mouth that would upset just about anyone.

I've been trying to find help from various angecies and found nothing yet.

Yesterday my car stalled on me and it won't start, so I have no money to find out what's wrong with it to continue on job hunting.

What sort of attorney that could take my case when I have no money? I need to fight this eviction so I can make some calls at the library using the TTD through the relay service. I'm gonna need a ride over there. *sigh*

I have my tax booklets, but am still waiting for my WD2 forms from Wal-Mart so I can file my taxes and use my tax returns to pay for my rent.

But my morgage needs to be paid this month too. The bank will repossess my home when they find out I am out of a job as well.

    I'm screwed.

I've tried everything to keep my ass from being screwed.

I feel like my life is over.

I wish I didn't survive my dehydration when I was born, I think I would have been better off if I had died rather than live through this crap.

    I hate this crap.

    Yizuman,

Being in a situation as yours is very stressful. I know because I have been at the bottom PLUS I have 3 kids.

Have you gone to MANPOWER or any other temporary work service?

You can apply at 2 services and have 2 jobs!

Everyone in my family has done this at one time or another in our lives.

My brother who is a computer expert was laid off from a big corp. along with umpteen other people a few weeks ago. He is going through his savings and is now being forced to go back to the Temp services like he did in his early 20s.

Some Temp Services here offer rides to work but I do not know about by you.

In my State there is a Car Pool Hot Line. So maybe you can get rides to work this way.

My childrens Father after our divorce rode a bicycle everywhere he went for a time.

He would ride his bike 20 to 40 miles a day to get to work, visit the kids, make it to meetings at the KH, etc.

Youre a man alone, responsible for no one but your self. I know you can do it.

Its hard and depressing at times but adversity is also very character building.

    Really it is.

At least thats what I tell myself to get through rough times.

    Take care our Yizuman.

    Agape,

    Yizuman....

I lost my job over a year ago. I worked for 7 years for Montgomery Ward, which went out of business. I lost my car, my apt, my savings, my insurance. I have two boys. I had to move in with my daughter, which I hate. I have yet to find a job that pays anywhere near what I made there, and have also suffered some health problems. I have been really depressed. I know how you feel. Jobs here in Chicago are hard to find, even with a degree.

I have been nearly suicidal. But, you have to keep going. It's unfortunate that money does rule the world, and without it, you're basically F***ED, but Raindrops had a good suggestion about the temp agency. Take her advice. And have a couple of cold ones!!

    Love...

So sorry, Yizuman. I recommend that you sell your house if foreclosure is in your future -- you'll come out much better. If you have some equity, maybe the interest on the equity would help you support yourself. When I was about to lose a job a few years ago, a crisis call counselor advised me to go back to school because there are lots of grants, loans and work-study programs to help.

Are you eligible for unemployment benefits? Are there any churches in your area where you can get a sack lunch or other help?

The temp agency idea is an excellent one as well. I have lost many jobs and taken temp work to tide me over. Usually one of the temp assignments leads to more long-term employment.

Talk to people, anyone who might be able to help you over this hurdle. There are resources and agencies to help. Don't let pride keep you from asking.

    Keep us posted.

Yizuman.....I'm outraged. Firstly, I clicked on the Wal-Mart story, and it made my blood boil when I read it. I'm so sorry that this happened, but more outraged that the employer did this. The commercials I've seen on TV re: Wal-Mart, annoy me ever further, although there are not that many up here in Canada.

Nonetheless, I am seated here feeling absolutely helpless . No doubt we are all feeling for you: wishing and hoping for something better on your behalf, doesn't always cut it.

Forgive me for being nosey, and so forth, but what state are you in? I do have some good friends in the US, various places, so who knows: word of mouth - can prove to be a good thing. They may know someone somewhere, and a job at hand.

My e-mail, should work if you wish to contact me, but I'm sure many of the people on here who live in the USA, will probably be more resourceful, but if I can at least ask any of my American friends, I will. You don't need this crap.

Landlord dude, needs a box of lye to clean out his potty mouth I'm sure. Let me know, I'll send that to him, with love from Canuckistan .

I hope a job and something better comes along, real soon. Take care!

Well, I have no place to go and the idea of living in a shelter scares the crap out of me.

I'm going to call an attorney and find out what to do and if I should file for bankrupsy or not.

I'm gonna be very busy in the morning to try and save my situation if I can.

I am, made alot of calls all day today, some wants me to call back tomorrow.

Sis came and picked me up and her kids ran around the library looking for books and played with the Internet while I spent all day on the TTD upstairs calling people. Sis will take me back and drop me off in the morning so I can do more calls and so forth.

I called the Indianapolis Bar Association to try and get some attorney referrals to find out what my rights are as a tenant and also my rights as a payee on my mortgage on my moble home, so I have 2 different issues to deal with.

I got all kinds of worries to deal with.

My stress is causing my psoriasis to bust out like hives and I don't look pretty at all. I'm getting new ones big time.

I'm so frustrated and I WANNA WORK!

I am curious as well, what state are you in? I'm in Georgia, specifically, ATL. Maybe I can help you find a job or at least a social services agency to help.
