Despite a gate marked 'private - keep out', Mr Hawthorn entered a farm only to be confronted by a four-year-old ram.

Geesh even the Rams are persecuting JWs these days, a sure sign that we are living in the end of this wicked system of things.

This has already been posted.
Here's a tip - it is something I have found useful, and I hope you do too.
(Stepping up on soapbox.)
Before I post a news item, I use the board's SEARCH facility to look for a name that is unique to the article. For example, before I posted this news item, I searched for "kenneth hawthorn" - I used the quotes - and the search engine returned an error message, which means the search term ("kenneth hawthorn") was not found in any message on the board.
I then posted the message. In the past couple of weeks there have been at least five news items that I was going to post, only to find that someone else had posted them earlier.
It isn't like this is a footrace with the prize being everlasting life - It's nice to be the first to bring a news item to everyone's attention, but the more important thing is that the news gets shared, not who shares it.

I agree. Now look at the date:
Ram butts Bible man
By CHRISTOPHER SALTER

I believe the news on this "old" event was the judge's desicion in favor of the injured tresspasor.
Cheers,
Gerry
The ram, which was affectionately known as "S--- for brains", has since died.
LOL @ the name of the now-deceased ram. I wonder if its name had any effect on the outcome of the case... would a ram 'with brains' not have acted the way this one did, by attacking the poor JW?
And this line, oh brother...
In its own defence, The Adelaide congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses said doorknocking was voluntary and followers were not obliged to do it.
What next?
I noticed the correspondent's name was Salter. He couldn't be a descendant of the Salter who was fighting with Rutherford in the 30s and 40s, could he? Thus having lived a whole life in hatred of the WBTS, and now finally he found a story to tell - wishing he had been the ram and Rutherford the publisher?
A little paranoid there, OH.
