Can you name who believed it ? The time of the end began in 1799,Christ returned invisibly in 1874,40--year harvest period ending in 1914 with the complete overthrow of man's rule (armageddon )replaced by God's rule, and numerous minor oddities regarding intelligence, black men, miracle wheat, numerology, and the size of men's brains.Perhaps nothing unique to the day except some of his particular prophetic dates...............................

Can you name who believed it? Millions now living will never die ( at least up until the judge's death in 1942 ) Abraham,Isaac and Jacob (and Moses, too ) will appear at our conventions soon and we will put them all up three thousand miles away in California in Rutherford's mansion there. The house, Beth Sarim, is deeded to the prophets of old, who never arrive to claim the house, and it is quietly sold after Rutherford's death...................................

Can you name who believed it? Sodomites will / won't / will / won't be resurrected, the early Christians had a rotating Governing Body , blood is an "organ",thus no organ transplants, either.Rape is only excusable if the victim screams LOUD , you can't / can divorce your husband if he's gay (depending on what he does ,exactly ),oral sex WILL get you disfellowedshipped, at least for a while, but in the final analysis we really don't want to know ( well, we do, but we must pretend we don't )..................

Finally can you name who believed it? Anything taught by Fred Franz.

Everyone should score 100% on these four questions. Blueblades

Blueblades, all your concerns were addressed and resolved decades ago (bold added):

It seems to be a weakness of many Bible Students that if they locate a future date in the Bible, immediately they center as many prophecies upon that date as possible. This has been the cause of many siftings in the past. As far as we recall, all the dates foreseen were correct. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw everything away. No doubt Mr. Miller was correct in locating 1844 as a Bible date. But he expected too much. 1874 was also easily located. 1878 was also a marked date, and one that caused Brother Russell a severe trial until he corrected his expectations, as noted in his Harvest Siftings, of April, 1894, now out of print. Many can remember how absolutely sure some were about 1914. No doubt the Lord was pleased with the zeal manifested by his servants; but did they have a Scriptural basis for all they expected to come to pass that year? Let us be cautious, therefore, about predicting particulars.

And, of course, they went right on predicting particulars about 1925 (like Beth Sarim and the ancient worthies you mention above).

Really, it's one of the best cartoon shows this world has ever seen.

But, as has now been made clear for our spiritual enlightenment and edificiation...

    IT'S ALL OUR FAULT!
