    Kurt Ardiles

Kurt Mario Ardiles, age 29, passed away Saturday, January 4, at his residence in Storm Lake. A funeral service was scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Arrangements were made with the Sliefert - Asmus Funeral Home in Storm Lake.

Kurt was born on March 31, 1973 in Quillota, Chile to Hector and Beverly (Wetherell) Ardiles. He dedicated his life through baptism on October 24, 1987 in Plant City, Florida. Soon after he began his pioneer ministry. Working hand in hand with the Regional Building Committee, he dedicated a lot of his energy and many hours on the construction sites of future Kingdom Halls. On May 19, 2002, he reached his goal and graduated from Ministerial Training School. Recently, Kurt had moved to Storm Lake to serve as an elder and a pioneer in the congregation.

As a child, Kurt grew up in Chile. And in his teenage years, he lived in Florida where he graduated from high school in Palatka, Florida. He enjoyed writing calligraphy. He had a love of learning different languages and also loved classical music.

Kurt is survived by his parents, Hector and Beverly Ardiles; brothers and sisters: Kalimera Ardiles, Benjamin David Ardiles, Deborann (Cindy) Ardiles, Sara Ardiles, Victoria Ardiles, and Felipe Crassi.

No information on cause of death, Scully. I hate to surmise, but my experience in handling suicides at my job were there are signals. One, he was young, 29. Two, he died at home. Three, no mention was made of a acute or chronic ailment. Four, he was male. This in 75 percent of the cases means suicide. I have nothing to back this up, just a bad feeling based on my work in the coroner's office.

I'm afraid that was my assessment too, Blondie.... for the very same reasons you stated.

Not from the coroner's office..... but pretty smart anyway.

Poor kid...... I wonder if he'd been here before it happened...... *sigh*

Do Witnesses conduct funeral services for suicide cases? Because of a zealous record, would they believe that "judgment should be left in Jehovah's hands"?

He moved far away from all his friends and family, having "recently" moved. What an empty and sad feeling it will be at that memorial service. Another witnessing opportunity for the WT Society, on the back of a hard-working innocent young man.

Yes, JWs have conducted funerals for suicides. They will not be held at the KH but usually at a funeral home. A brother (even an elder) can give the talk depending on his personal conscience. Sadly, I have attended 2 in the last 3 years. At least in this area I have not seen the heartless and unrelenting judgment of others.
