U.S. Army policy letter regarding Jehovah's Witnesses and blood Although Jehovahs Witnesses dont join the army, the U.S. Army has distributed a letter regarding the treatment of Jehovahs Witnesses in military clinics. You can read the scanned letter on http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/

    Rado,

Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses DO join the US army, though the Society sees it as an automatic DisAssociation. There are more than a couple, and many do bring their "blood issues" with them. Not to mention the fact that many military "spouses" are JW's and are treated in Army hospitals worldwide.

This letter sounds like it was written by a Witness. It really does. Hmmm........

    Minimus,

I think they contacted a Hospital Liaison Committee member. It indeed sounds like it was written by a JW.

Actually, the letter seems pretty standard. When the US Army writes about religious beliefs they generally take input from those religions. I'm sure those blurbs did come from the Society. I'm currently rewriting a Training Support Package for Accomadating Religious Practices. When I discuss each of the major faith groups, I go to each representative of that faith for input.
