You lucky bastard!!!!!!!!
I'm jealous; I want to go!!
I saw the Scorpions in 1981 at Madison Square Garden, had front row seats, they opened up for Rainbow. They rocked.
I remember a few years ago in an interview with Ritchie Blackmore, they asked him in all his years of doing concerts dod he ever feel upstaged by an opening band, and he said "yeah 1981, the Scorpions"
Saw the Michael Schenker Group many years ago, he rocked too!

Back in the late 80's I saw the "Monsters of Rock". It was Kingdom Come, Dokken, Scorpions, Metallica, and Van Halen.
The Scorpions just kicked ass. I was a total Metallica diehard at the time, but I was far more dazzled by the Scorps that day. Klaus Meine is one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time.

I beg to differ ... Graham Bonet, it the best vocalist of all time! :)

Graham Bonet
Hmmm...interesting. I only knew one song that he sang on, "All Night Long" by Rainbow. They had a video for it that they played on MTV quite a bit (waaay back in the day). Who else did he sing for besides Rainbow?
Graham's first single was with The Marbles "Only One Woman" penned by Bee Gee's Barry Gibb. It went to number 3 hit in the U.K. and throughout Europe. The Marbles went on to release follow up singles from the same album.
He cut his first solo album in 1977. Even though it only reached medium success in the U.K., it achieved Gold status in Australia and experienced similar success in Europe as well as in Japan.
In 1979 Ritchie Blackmore sought out Graham to audition for Rainbow's new frontman position. Rainbow had already auditioned 60 people. Graham was asked to sing "Mistreated" and was hired on the spot. With his James Dean image, the choice of Bonnet to replace Ronnie James Dio was subject to some questions. However, once Bonnet was heard there were no more questions or concerns. The Down to Earth album was one of Rainbow's most successful albums.
1981 saw Graham resume his solo career, and with the release of "Night Games", which had a #6 hit in England. He joined Michael Schenker Group and was reunited with long time friend Cozy Powell. After recording "Assault Attack", Graham returned to Los Angles to form the band Alcatrazz which produced guitar greats Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai. Alcatrazz cut several albums before disbanding. After a short stint with Impellitteri, Forcefield and Blackthorne, Graham has returned to recording solo albums. "Underground" was recorded in 1996, and he released his latest solo album "The Day I Went Mad" in 1999.
Since 2000. he participated in the reunion of Anthem, the top heavy metal band in Japan, released the album "Heavy Metal Anthem", and toured Japan with the band. Also in 2001, he re-joined Impellitteri and recorded their latest album called "System X".
After all these years, he still sounds good. His style does vary from group to group and even from group to solo career.
I have most of his stuff and it amounts to about 20 albums so far, but he has more!
His last solo CD was "The Day I Went Mad" (1999) This recording features guitarists Slash from Guns and Roses, Vivian Cambell from Def Leppard, Mario Parga from Cozy Powell's and John Thomas from the band Firefly. Bassists Bruce Kulick from KISS and Tony Franklin from The Firm. The keyboards were handled by Michael Alemania also from Firefly and Kevin Valentine who has played with Cinderella and KISS on drums.
It's awesome!

LOL! I remember thinking "waitaminute, where's the prerequisite heavy metal hair?" He looked like he should be driving a Porsche on the way to his job as a sleazeball attorney or something.
But, he did wail like a Banshee on that song I mentioned.
