JW father in law in hospital, this weekend, maybe last days of his life. With his last energy he was reading a Watchtower magazine for comfort. I could understand.

Then he is too tired and puts the magazine away. I take it to arrange his hospital desk.

And then, I feel the magazine is heavy like a feather, has not more then 10 pages like a postal stamp.

It made me think things are not up in JW country anymore.

Such a thin magazine makes a JW think, is it??

They did it gradually so the shock wouldn't be so great.

    1536 pages a year.

    1152 pages a year.

    768 pages a year

    576 pages a year

    480 pages a year.

All in a little over a decade.

    Who knows what's next?

I think the older ones who looked at the magazines for their source for tips, quirky facts/articles, as well as religious subjects are the only ones to "benefit" from the previous style. Everybody else is on the internet and receives their information from there. Superfluous information for these days.

At least they are making the changes. It was about 20 years too late, all the wasteful printing and rehash of old articles.

Do they still call them magazines? Pamphletts or tracts would be more apt, surely.

I'm sorry, what you are going through now is not easy and less so with the jw stuff in the mix. All the best to all of you.

The Mormons have better quality magazines when it comes to layout and design.

I`m sorry that you are going through this Gorby obviously you still have a strong connection with your father in law and relatives .

You were their for your father in law and he got comfort from the Mags.

You did the humane thing comforting your father in law in his last days in spite of you not agreeing with his point of view.

As for the quality of the magazines Jehovah`s Witnesses printed they never came within cooee (an Australian expression ) of "The plain Truth" a high gloss magazine freely given away for free many years before the WT gave their mags away for nothing.

    take care Bro.

    Thin Watchtower magazine =

    unappetising religious prattle

dreary literature for very old religious has-beens

last evidence for a failed and dying cult.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad Gorbster.

As long as they have enough pages to beg for money and condemn tight trousers, that'll be enough for the WBT$ scam.
