I looked off into the distance, as far as the eye could see,
I saw a vision of a woman and all the love that could be.
O' the distance I traveled, this man from the west,
To meet one so beautiful, thou daughter of the east.
You came to me in the evening, among the trees we met,
We stood together watching, waiting until the sun was set.
Our culture is different, so the wise one will say,
But you took my hand, united we found the way.
Together we shared the moment, we shared the night,
Was it wrong for us to be consumed with such delight?
We asked not for tomorrow, for this we must decline,
But at least that night I was yours and you were mine.
