For those who did not get a copy of the Free Minds Journal vol.22,no.1 Feb through April 2003,Editor Randall Watters. I recommend it.The article on" The 1914 Dilemma "is an embarrassment and a dilemma to the Society.

The article takes up the whole back page,I don't know if someone already scanned it for us or already commented on it on another thread,so I won't print it out here, unless I get permission from Randy or Simon. With the new format I don't know if it is ok to share the free minds journal articles on this board for those who don't have a subscription to it.Does anyone know if we are allowed to post information like this or not.The posting guidelines # 4 is my concern on copyright materials.

If it's ok I will share some of the points from this article that I think is one of the best written on "The 1914 Dilemma".

Ooooooh tell, tell! I figure it'll take another 10 - 15 years and they'll REALLY get rid of the whole 1914 thing-a-ma-jig.........they'll say "We never really said for SURE that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914, we jes speculated."

    lol blue,

MY copy is in the bottom drawer of my desk at work. Not hiding, just threw it there "til later".....tax time.

Why not share it here? As long as you give kudos to Randy (and he seems a sweetie) - I'm sure it'll be ok.

Afterall, that's the pertient intent - Get Truthful Information Out About Jehovah's Witnesses!

And others will learn about Randy Watters' fine magazine too

The 1914 Dilemma. Many opinions have been expressed on this board as to what is killing the Society today.I am positive that issues such as the UN scandal, the pedophile issue, etc. are having a negative effect and contributing to a general slackening off and sense of malaise amongst the rank and file.I am also sure that these issues are being glossed over and the loyal rank- and- file will accept the explanations and the gloss that will be used to cover over these things.

There is one teaching though, that like a thread on a woolen jumper,if picked away at,causes the whole garment to fall apart. That is the 1914 teaching.

What a dilemma this must be causing the hierarchy. The last time that the teaching on this was changed,in 1995 with the "new light"on the "generation",many fell away. But here we are seven years later, and still no further new light. And,even if there were to be new changes to this doctrine,we would only see people leaving in droves, especially the under 40s,who are the next generation of potential elders, circuit overseers, etc.

But why is this the big problem for the teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses and likely to be the reason for the gradual demise of the whole organization? Let's have a look at some of the "1914" facts/issues. (to be continued)
