Have you ever had a strange experience that could not be explained?
The mystery of the Materialising watch! ………TRUE STORY!
When I used to work underground as a coal miner, we could only take mechanical (no electric powered watches down the mine. For obvious reasons.
I had just purchased a cheap watch, of which I kept in a snuff tin to keep out the coal dust. I used this watch for a few weeks always keeping it in my waistcoat pocket. One Friday I was at work down the mine (as we called it…”I wuk darn Pit” as we would say in the Yorkshire tongue), it was the Friday before the Pit was due to close for a number of day’s, about four or five I think.
At the end of the shift we all would race to the pit bottom, from all area, in my case it was about 2 mile to the up cast shaft to get out. We would try to get there as quickly as possible, even riding the coal conveyor belt, which was very dangerous, but much quicker than walking. The aim was to get in the queue early so to get out quicker, mainly because as soon as you knew it was escape time the Nicotine addiction would kick back in!
Anyway, when on arriving back in fresh air, I remembered that I had left my waistcoat with the watch in. I could not go back until after the Holiday. That was that I thought I would never see them again. They would probably be taken before I could get back, as there was at least one more shift of worker after ours.
To cut a long story short! LOL, after the holiday, I when back to my locker, go undressed into my nudy suit, with my towel over the shoulder and soap! From the clean locker, we would then go into the mucky (dirty) side, that where all the overalls were kept, in the dirty lockers. In my dirty locker was my work gear, ready for a brand new week. Low and behold in one of the pockets the snuff tin was pulled out, complete with watch!
I thought I must have been mistaken and left only the waistcoat down the Mine.
I know some of you will think I am making this up, but on returning to my work place that shift, I found the waistcoat. GUESS WHAT! Inside the pocket was a snuff tin and inside an identical watch.

I just cannot explain it!
