Greetings all...I just got my Girl Scout cookies from daughter numero uno and in it was one of my old books her mother found. Its the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Language written by David Crystal. ISBN 0-521-42443-7. I thought as much as we dissect language and words that many of you would benefit from such a well put together volume that covers the history of language and also covers everything from semantics to the liguistic use of sound...very good reading and informative. Have a good day everyone...*munching on thin mints and perusing Pragmatics in my newly returned tome.
Sincerely,
District Overbeer
