The Jehovah's Witnesses claim that the Holy Spirit is none other than a force... however when we compare scripture with scripture, we begin to see that the Holy Spirit is a person.

As the Jehovah's Witnesses dispute this, the question still remains...

    "Who/What is the Holy Spirit?"

    The Holy Spirit can :

    Be grieved

    Be Blasphemed against...

    Can pray

    Can intercede

    Can speak

    Can teach

    Can guide

    Can perform miracles

    Can have conversations

    Can have fellowship/communion with believers

    Can comfort

All the traits of a person, rather than a force.

Was Cinderella's shoe really made of glass or was it plastic or resin or a very translucent fabric. Is it important, who cares and does it really detract that much from the story not knowing absolutely? She dropped it and ran :P

At the end of the day men wrote a book that was in a language that today can be translated and interpreted multiple ways into meaning variable concepts and more often than not used to manipulate the gullible.

It is a story. It isn't real. It doesn't matter. It is unnecessary trying to convince others (especially atheists) one viewpoint is more accurate or valid than another because at the end of the day it is all just a bunch of fairy tales and no-one should be wasting time worrying that much about ancient Jewish folklore but should be getting on with their lives, loving and caring for those around them. Life is too short to worry whether holy spirit is a force or a person and makes not a jot of difference to real life events and just causes vexation and frustration to those arguing for opposite viewpoints with no evidence or proof either is right as all of it is only opinion.

The Holy Goat is whatever the Society says it is.

It doesn't matter if the society gets it wrong like their misapplication of 'new light'? Their Armageddon that's always just around the corner. Their no blood dogma.

As a follower of the WTBTS your like a prisoner making do with a cup of daily gruel...............and having the prison minister visit and describe what a real steak is.

    It just doesn't really matter.

Have you noticed the Bible is full of figurative language. The book of Revelation, for instance, cannot, for the most part, be taken literally. To this day, no one can with 100 % certainty explain its many mysteries. Not the Watchtower, not the Catholic Church, not the Evangelicals, nor the Adventists.

Throughout the Bible, many inanimate things can do things that ONLY a person can. Overall, it's figurative speech. Even Jesus said (and that AFTER personifying the holy spirit): "I have spoken these things to you in comparisons." (John 16.25, NWT-2013) Other Bibles instead of comparisons, say "figurative speech," or "analogies." But yet, you seem to suggest that Jesus was speaking literally of the holy spirit as a person being a Counselor or Helper, when he himself said it was an analogy. Think about that!

The basic sense of spirit in the Bible is "breath" or "wind." Now take that literally, if you will.
