    …inasmuch as it ensures they retain their charity-slash-tax-exemption.

    First and foremost, though…

    …it’s about reinforcing their legitimacy and authority in the eyes of the membership.

    And nothing undermines the premise of “God’s Exclusive Earthly Organization” quite like the CSA problem.

    The other day on the Six Screens, he touched-on how the Zalkin law firm is coming after the Borg like a pitbull lately. I read somewhere on some other forum the Borg settled at least 7 out of court settlements lately. I can't determine the monetary value of these settlements, but I would imagine they would be pretty hefty when you consider they would be like 'hush' money in order to keep the victims quiet.
