I would guess it might be an inspired suggestion to get even reluctant JW males to reach out. What is the current hourly rate for monkeys? It is likely to be compatible with the average hourly rate of most JWs in "worldly" employment.

Yes the salary no doubt would be very low,"monkeys rate", LOL . Average salary for ministers 25k-73k in the US....

It would not be practical for JWs to pay several elders. The ratio of elders to congregation members is too high to be affordable to the rank and file. However, if a single elder where to be paid he could dedicate himself full time to the congregation while being supported by voluntary ministerial servants. The reason they have so many elders in a congregation except for one is because they all have full time jobs and can only handle a limited portion of the work needed to run it.

Urging the rank and file to go for higher education and better paying jobs might make it possible for congregations to pay the local bodies of monkeys.

Did Jesus have money??Luke8:1-3 Money was given to him by many people because, the crowds would give money if they enjoy a ministers message (ok that may be a problem). Yes several wealthy supporters also gave as well (that may be another problem). Jesus spoke against the love of money but he didn't turn it down. VI: a single elder is not a bad idea....

Since the WTS/congregations cannot afford to pay their bills now, how will they afford even one elder's salary.
My in-laws are not jws, Lutherans, a small town church with one pastor, they pay his salary, plus rent-free parsonage 80 years old, and retirement fund, family health through his wife's employment not the church A congregation of 50 retired people and 4 families. They manage but barely. $50,000 a year, every year, never paid off.
