When I was a Jehovah's Witness, I was told that Charles Taze Russell was the first president of the Watchtower Society. Since then, the Proclaimer's book (page 576) states that the first president of Zion's Watchtower Tower Society ( founded in 1881) was W.H. Conley and C.T. Russell was secretary and treasurer. In 1884 (time of incorporation), Russell becomes president and Conley isn't even listed as an officer. I wondered who Conley was and what became of him, so I conducted an internet search. Only "spiritual Jehovah's Witnesses" are exected to visit these sites. Since the moderators know all this background of the founding fathers of JWs and still remain Witnesses they must be "spiritual." Ummmmm!
