Spot on about the JWs. But..., on the other hand, he was very much a Christian. And particularly his second book (In Search of Christian Freedom).
I find more like reading a book by somebody arguing the finer points of Klingon grammar. In that they're both getting passionate about things that come from fiction. So I can't view him as spot-on on religious matters. -

Well, he was in a position in that organization that not many were. His perspective is quite unique. I agree, but other people stories are as good and powerful (IMHO).

I like Ray’s writing style. He made difficult things easy to understand.

Ray accomplished one important fact and that is the WTS was a pretentious fraud that wasn't following inline with Scripture but deviated from it through its inherent endeavor of literature proliferation.
The organization's self assuming power and identity was wholly created and established by the men who were the top executive leaders of the WTS., such as Russell and Rutherford.
An exercise of free wheeling American charlatanism.
