  So they are soliciting help from the very Witness health care professionals whose lives they have just make more difficult by changing long-held WT policy and now forbidding them from giving blood transfusions to non-JWs?

  From what I understand, they use to say that a JW Doctor or JW nurse, could use their own conscience to give a blood transfusion.

  
  

  But this was changed depending upon who is "in charge" or the one "making the decisions" for the patient.

  
  If a JW is in charge making the decisions, they would NOT give a transfusion.
  But
  If the JW is taking instructions or orders from "a superior" or "someone else" who is making the decisions, and is asked to perform a transfusion, that is when the JW must use their own conscience as to whether they will be involved or not.

  The link I provided above seems to indicate a very recent change on this matter, that is, from the 2011 reference you mention. Can you get any of the letters to the HLCs regarding this? It's supposed to be in the last couple of months, and evidently the local BOEs are not (yet?) privy to it.

  We have not received any letter concerning this as of yet, but I have read the same info where it was mentioned on Reddit. Other members here have also heard about this letter.

  If we get a recent copy of this letter, I'll send you a pm or post it. Then we all can sit down with coffee and donuts and go over it with a fine-tooth-comb!
