PUZZLES and MYSTERIES and GAMES
A poem by Terry Walstrom
For Puzzles, I only have cross words to mutter;
they’re utterly *dunnies’ arcades
Agatha Christie confounds me, (astounds me)
it’s the gun, or the knife, or the maid!
Vera kills Lombard then old Justice Wargraves
(who’s terminally ill - that’s the gist)
Gets comeuppance eftsoon - (worth tuppence to me,)
Just yanks my old knickers a twist!
GAMES
Sudoku is classy and checkers, déclassé
Chess is my passion, alas!
Bishops and castles exceedingly facile
So scathingly brilliant as I checkmate your ass!
_________
