My heart goes out to every child who has a parent fighting in this war, be they American, British, Aussie or Iraqi- especially the ones too young to realize exactly where Dad or Mom is at. They just know that everyone is so upset and the news is talking about and showing pictures of soldiers who were killed or were captured that are dressed just like Dad or Mom was the last time they saw them. I can picture a little one toddling over to the TV touching the screen and saying, "Daddy." Let's not forget about the Iraqi Moms who have no SpongeBob SquarePants to distract her kids. She's too busy trying to figure out where's the best place to hide away from the fire from above. I hope many of them evacuated before the bombing started. I can't imagine dragging a handful of kids across a city with a babe in arms and whatever essential belongings needed.
I find it quite absurd now for me to argue the pros and cons of this war. The past has been forgotten just like this will be forgotten. The horses are already out of the barn. The worst is yet to come and there's not one thing I can do about it. This war is no worse than any other fought in my lifetime except we've got webcams 24/7. Everyone is on edge and I'm sure everyone wants this to come to an end. I've got three close buddies over there and I'm just too emotional to be objective. No more war threads for me.

There will always be music.
For {{{{the kids}}}}:
Oh, Very Young
Cat Stevens
Oh Very Young, what will you leave us this time
You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while
And though your dreams may toss and turn you now
They will vanish away like your dads best jeans
Denim blue, faded up to the sky
And though you want them to last forever
You know they never will
(You know they never will)
And the patches make the goodbye harder still.
Oh Very Young what will you leave us this time
There'll never be a better chance to change your mind
And if you want this world to see a better day
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride the great white bird into heaven
And though you want to last forever
You know you never will
(You know you never will)
And the goodbye makes the journey harder still.
Will you carry the words of love with you
Will you ride, oh,oooooooooooooh
Oh Very Young, what will you leave us this time
You're only dancin' on this earth for a short while
Oh Very Young, what will you leave us this time
To the little ones who can't find sleep tonight-the most beautiful lullabye ever written: CONNEMARA CRADLE SONG
On the wings of the wind o'er the dark rolling deep
Angels are coming to watch o'er thy sleep
Angels are coming to watch over thee
So list to the wind coming over the sea
Chorus:
Hear the wind blow love, hear the wind blow
Lean your head over and hear the wind blow
Oh, winds of the night, may your fury be crossed,
May no one who's dear to our island be lost
Blow the winds gently, calm be the foam
Shine the light brightly and guide them back home
Chorus
The currachs are sailing way out on the blue
Laden with herring of silvery hue
Silver the herring and silver the sea
And soon there'll be silver for baby and me
Chorus
The currachs tomorrow will stand on the shore
And daddy goes sailing, a sailing no more
The nets will be drying, the nets heaven blessed
And safe in my arms dear, contented he'll rest
edited to add those from Oz, sorry about that.
