It's right up there with Santa Claus, The Tooth fairy. You get the same result from praying to a gallon of milk. 50/50 that your prayers will be answered. Then again, mostly not.

What about the Orthodox Jew praying at the wailing wall ,when asked about how his prayers were going according to what he prayed for .?
He answered : I`ts just like talking to a brick wall.

Prayers of Jesus, Paul etc were not answered. (Luke 22:42; 2 Corinthian 12:9) If God were to fulfill what people pray for, that would be working against Laws of Nature (Mark 4:24) which HE can’t. If HE favors one, it would be partiality which again HE can’t show. In larger picture, not answering anyone’s prayer is the best. (Mathew 13:24-30)

I would have thought JWs would have realized after they have lost over 20000 members, that their god has no interest in them at all. Im pretty sure the one thing they would all be saying when they prayed was for their god to protect them and the organisation. In the end JWs death rate is three times the world average.

Smiddy3,
1) Branch buildings that are now sold to sustain full-time servants were once dedicated with heart-felt prayers from GB members "praying for increse" in the respective territories in line with Isaiah 60:22.
But Jehovah did not answer those prayers.
2) Instead of fleeing to Egypt (Mathew 2:13) Joseph could have prayed to God, and His angels could have saved infant Jesus from Herod's soldiers. This would have converted king and his army, and even the whole people into God's side.

According to the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) to ask the God of the Bible for anything in prayer is pointless.
- God is omnipotent. He already knows everything about you and what you truly need. He knows past, present, and future.
- God has everything already planned out. To ask God for anything to goes contrary to the plan will not be granted. He will not change his mind for you.
Even prayers of praise and thanks are rather pointless. God already knows if you are grateful for what he does and He already knows He is the best God, ever. Just ask Him. He won't answer. He doesn't have to.
