Here are some examples where Bible writers used the #, 3! Were these stories ever true, or were they just fabrications and laziness on the writer's part where it just made sense to use the #, 3?

12-year-old Jesus stays in Jerusalem, Joseph, and Mary find him 3 days later

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

Jesus spread Christianity for three years – according to the Gospel of John.

Jesus predicted that Peter would deny knowing him three times before the cock crowed. (Luke 22:34)

Paul suffered “Three times I have been beaten with rods. Three times I have been shipwrecked.” 2. Corinthians 11:25

Noah had three sons: Shem – Ham – Japheth The story of Noah is in Genesis chapter 7 -10

Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of a whale.

“For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a whale, so will the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” Matthew 12:40

Jesus raised three people from the dead:

    1. The only son of a widow from Nain. Luke 7:11-14

    2. The daughter of the religious leader in Jairus. Mark 35 – 42

At the time of the the solstice, when the shortest day and longest night occur, ancient observers noticed that the sun's position at sunrise was pretty much the same for about a 3 day period. In the Northern hemisphere, that occurs around December 22nd.

It was as if time was standing still in a sense. The deepest sleep before life renewed again.

Echoes of this astronomical event occur in quite a few myths.

1.The 3 righteous patriarchs before the flood were Abel, Enoch and Noah. After the deluge there was the righteous "fathers" Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (later renamed Israel).

2.The number 3 related to sex sins?

There are three places in the New Testament where sex sins are specially referenced. The first is in Romans 1:20 - 32, where certain people who reject God are given over to defile themselves in a variety of ways that includes homosexuality (male and female) and overall sexual immorality.

The second mention of sex-related sins is in 1Corinthians 5:1 - 13, where the apostle Paul must handle the problem of the local church allowing a member to openly commit incest.

The third sex issue dealt with in the New Testament is in Revelation 2:19 - 25. A female who considers herself a prophetess within the Thyatira church, in the spirit of Jezebel, was teaching believers to commit sexual immorality and spiritual adultery.

3.Jesus prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane before His arrest. He was placed on the cross at the 3rd hour of the day (9 a.m.) and died at the 9th hour (3 p.m.). There were 3 hours of darkness that covered the land while Jesus was suffering on the crossfrom the 6th hour to the 9th hour. Three is the number of resurrection. Christ was dead for three full days and three full nights

I can go on and on.It gets long and boring.

    All BS anyway

The number 3 in the Bible means these "3" things: divine wholeness, completeness and perfection.

    3 confirms a matter.

God's attributes are 3: omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence.

On the third day, the earth rose from the water, symbolic of resurrection life.

And lest we forget the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

But also- We have a human habit of looking for patterns of 3. You hear people say all the time expressions like “three’s company” or “three’s a crowd” or “the third time’s the charm,” or “bad news (or deaths) always comes in threes.” So I would not be so quick to think that all the 3's in the Bible were supposed to be Holy. Maybe it was just people writing in that pattern.

In Genesis we read that Abraham's "male member" was only 3 inches long and Sarah didn't have a son (Issac) until God gave Abraham some purple pills or something.

And then there was something about Peter's cock, it crowed (?) three times while he was in bed or something before breakfast.

    Good for him.
