What's Going On? Marvin Gaye

  My friend from the board, who has had difficulties posting since "Simon's new order", asked me to post this for him. So, Zech, here you go:

  The Spirits of men of old are being resurrected all the time. History continues to rpeat itself. If we dont rmember the lessons of the past we are destined to repeat the same mistakes.
  
  It is uncanny how the period of the Vietnam war and the Peace protests together with the Vietnam War is repeating itself. It is the same script with different actors. The greatest influences of the time was the writers of song. We can see emerging now political and peace/love promoting song writers rising on the horizon to meet the current need to stop the war.
  
  The greatest work of such political poets has to be Marvin Gayes "Whats Going On Album." All aspects of the lyrics of all songs on this album are relevant to todays situation. It is my hope as well as my expectation the spirit of Marvin Gaye will be resurrected and live again inspiring new artists to follow suit to raise the Christ consciousness through music throughout the world.
  
  Such people as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and even Eminen I can envision rising to this call.
  
  I am here paying tribute to Marvin Gaye by posting the lyrics to all the songs on the "Whats Going On" album.
  
  Many such lyrics inspire a new generation of Gods people. They are those who love both God and their fellowman. They are true christians regardless of their religion. Christianity was never a religion as there was Christians of all religions all united in love. The Christ consciousness inspires universal love and brotherhood.
  
  Marvin Gaye shares the same vision as Martin Luther King that one day we will enter the Promised Land. We can and should all feed off the spirits of such men and keep them alive. They are like dead Jedi Knights who now are risen to greater supernatural power. They invisibly are inspiring a new period of political protest. Its a very exciting time in which we live.

  I sincerely hope no one has the audacity to write prowar and hate songs. If so I will post those too in contrast.
  
  Remember... War is not the answer. Only love can conquer hate.

  P.S.- Just last night the 10 remaining American Idol contestants made a recording for charity to benefit the Red Cross. Burt Bacharach organized them to sing a new arrangement of hi song "What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love.

  I concur with you views. Thanks for this thread. Awhile ago I started one with IMAGINE. It quckly died. It seems many are afraid to come out and say that they believe in the power of Love and Respect for all People. Hate seems to be the way the wind is blowing now a days.
