I know that this question has been asked before, but there are newer members on the forum, and as a nice diversion, I thought I'd post this question:

Since many of us are now no longer Jehovah's Witnesses, how many of you returned to post-secondary education? In some cases, I know some quit high school, so if you have returned there, it'd be interesting to hear your stories.

Are you in any form of schooling right now?

What did some of you take in your schooling?

    Did you major in anything?

Did you attain a certificate/degree/doctorate etc.?

Do you feel fulfilled with your decision?

Do you plan to go back to school/college/university to upgrade?

It'd be neat to see your replies. Thank you in advance.

I am currently finishing up my first year of obtaining my Bsc in Nursing at the University of Alberta. For someone who never finished high school (actually I was expelled 2 yrs in a row) I would have never dreamed in a million years that I would actually be attending university. Somedays I still can't believe it. I may have started 10 years afetr most of my friends, but I always say better late than never.

Remember...it is NEVER too late to pursue your dreams!!! I know so many people who have been out of school for many many years, and they have gone back...and they are very successful at it. Sometimes dreams are all you have, and you just have to chase them sometimes.

    I'll bite:

I quit when I was 15 but took the GED when I turned 16. Should've known then how much I'd really miss school and education. I pioneered in the mornings, but since my father was an electrical engineer and ran the most interesting lab at the university, I used to spend afternoons helping him build things. (Actually, I mostly broke things, he'd build things). He got me a card to the campus library which was huge, and I started spending afternoons there, too. After a while, in fact, I quit pioneering with the rest of the group and just started filling up my 100 hours with a dozen Bible Studies. Any pioneer could have as many Bible Studies as they wanted just by working the dorms. (My only regret is that about 8 of these studies got baptized.)
