There will be three presentations during the new Christian Life & Ministry Meeting. They will be presented by two people and the GB has made specific instructions as to who can be involved in these presentations.
In all 3 presentations the same explicit instruction is given which is as follows -
This student presentation may be assigned to a brother or a sister. When assigned to a brother, the assistant should be a member of his family or a brother in the congregation.
I am wondering why they have singled out brothers advising them that they can use a family member or a brother but the same instruction is not given of a sister. I am assuming here that they think it is obvious that a sister could not use a brother even if they were a family member. Anyway there is potentially a serious problem with this arrangement.
The Brother is any baptized male in the congregation who has signed up to be part of this. They will now be given the opportunity to select any baptized Brother in the congregation to assist them and we know that there are young baptized boys, even as young as 8 or 9 that would qualify to be used.
What better opportunity could a pedo have by asking a young or vulnerable teenager to be their assistant and to meet privately to 'practice'?
They have argued for years that they don't 'work alone with children', especially in Australia and now turn around and set up an arrangement that specifically allows this.
