Yesterday I was in the Dollar Tree shopping for Goodies for and Easter Egg hunt next week.
(For those of you not from the US, the Dollar Tree is a chain of stores where everything is......just ONE dollar!!!)
There, in front of my beady little bargain-hunting eyes, were copies of the Holy Bible.
I immediately wondered the following:
- How much profit is Dollar Tree making on these rather nice Bibles?
- How much did I used to sell Bibles for in the mid-80s? ($3.50, wasn't it?)
- How much did it cost to make bibles with volunteer labor in the mid-80s?
- How much profit did/does the WBTS make from the sale of their Bibles?
Rather interesting to ponder, don't you think?
Perhaps the WBTS can pursuade the Dollar Tree to start printing bibles for them, and then sell them direct through their volunteer sales force!
I thought it was a rather good marketing idea!
