Programme exploring whether religious belief is an inbuilt part of our makeup, similar to the natural urges to eat and have sex etc. Scientists researching an unusual brain disorder are suggesting that it might hold the key to help explain how people experience individual religious faith.

I agree with teeny.....it would explain a lot.
Thanks Hip...that thread was before I started so I missed it. I have believed this for years and never thought anyone would do research; it seems like a very taboo subject. Saying you don't believe in god is one thing; telling people that they *need* it almost sounds like an insult.
