XJW: I remember somebody said the name was changed to Kingdom Service for awhile because "Ministry" did not translate the way they wanted it too in some asian country. I wonder if that meant that Ministerial Servants were called Service Servants (kind of redundant, kind of redundant), or maybe they fell back on the word Deacon. Whatever happened, Kingdom Service did not last very long as a title.

I am sure the reason was NOT the translation; the thing was this:
It was during the last days of Ray Franz,and his attempts to push us to the mainstream, such as realizing that we are NOT all ministers in the commonly held view, and that our daily life and conduct could be a part of our worship too, thus the change to our kindgom service. Maybe it was to shield from liability, you know, miscounseling as "ministers" ?
He also tried to get across the idea that the paradise scriptures were applying more to the scriptural paradise in the congregations, not the "near future" earthly one.
