On my way to church today I was approached by a man asking me if I had a mobile telephone. I had one on me but I said i didn’t, and I certainly wasn’t going to let the guy use it. He replied by calling me ‘a lyer’ - and I guess the reality of the situation I was. Afterwards I thought to myself “ yup theocratic warfear. Lol”. Anyway it put a smile on my face. Just my insight of an event today.

Yup, same thing as Theocratic Warfare. If it serves your purpose it's OK to lie.

I guess the guy was on firm ground in calling you out, one of the few people in the World to regularly forget to carry his mobile is me !

I also guess if it was an expensive 'phone you carried you did the right thing, he would have been off with it.

How come if he calls you a liar, he doesn't think you should be suspicious of him, supposedly NOT carrying a 'phone himself ?

nothing like lying for the Truth tm

Proverbs 6:16-19 King James Version (KJV)

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Sometimes people ask inappropriate questions and shouldn’t expect straight forward answers, be they JW elders, or everyday life. That’s on them not on you.

You didn't lie. The man just asked the wrong question! And you perceiving that he really wanted to use your mobile phone, you simply save him the embarrassment of being denied the use your mobile phone! You are so wise and understanding in your perception!

    just saying!

There is a grain of truth in what JW organization says: A lie is withholding the truth from someone who is entitled to know the truth. Why would anyone provide information to someone who is highly likely to use it against them or exploit them?

    ...he said, doubling down. :smirk:

Seriously though, I actually like the term "warfear".

    I may use it sometime.
