    First off . . .

Darn, the beard trope is back. Bible student has beard, then shaves when coming in the truth.

It's also kinda weird that this JW met what looks like his biological brother in the door to door work. His mother must've gotten around.

Then there's this picture of Eve.

I... like this picture. Not sure why.

Then there's yet another repeat of a popular scripture:

"The day will come when he will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.—Rev. 21:4."

Nevermind that this scripture is an exact parallel of Isaiah 25:8, and that Paul explicitly says that scripture is fulfilled in heaven, and the WT quietly admits that. But don't think about that.

Then there's this logic about why the last days are lasting so long:

"Jehovah knows the best time to end this wicked world. His patience has allowed for the gathering of a great crowd, numbering into the millions ... All of them are glad that Jehovah has endured long enough for them to be born"

Nevermind that millions are born and die every year that only thousands get baptized as JWs. Don't think about that.

Here's a lovely bit of sexism for ya:

"suppose a brother in the congregation gives excellent public talks. We might ask him how he goes about preparing his talks. If a sister is a fine cook, we might ask her for suggestions that will help us to improve in that area."

There's an encouraging memory from a Special Pioneer:

"We would each receive ...$35 ...every month—if we reached the required hours, return visits, and literature placements."

    Also from that life story:

"I was invited to serve on the newly formed United States Branch Committee . . . leaving behind Laura’s aging mother . . . Laura’s three sisters offered to help her . . . my brother and his wife, who lived in Toronto, Canada, were caring for my widowed mother . . . We really appreciate the love and care they gave her until her death soon after our arrival in New York"

What a fine example, leaving your parents right before their death because of yet another whim assignment change from HQ.

To close out the magazine another article again tells JWs not to use online dating . . . unless it's Zoom. It says to watch people during the meeting and in the breakout rooms and that somehow suffices. 😐

That's great. The comparison between the two reeks of sexism, yes.

I see what you mean about Eve’s picture. Hmm. Best not said..... BTW.. “ I would not eat that pear if I were you, love, it looks all lumpy “

As for that “sexist “ quote, I guess that is how it still is in much of the world. But they could counter it by commending a sister for , say, her Watchtower answers. However, WT conductors hate it when smart arse sisters give good answers. Despite what the recent study article said, this is still a sexist , male dominated organisation .

Eve looks good..... By the Society's reckoning , Adam didn't make her pregnant for at least 46 years ( mirroring 1975 - 2021 ). That guy had some discipline.....

And a good looking , young , professional "worldly" guy becoming a JW as a result of being called on in first call? It just doesn't happen.....

That's not a beard - see my avatar or here's some proper beards.

I think JWs have so little experience with beards that even the men don't know how they really grow. If you look at some of the pictures they've used with fake beards sometimes they're downright awkward, no neck coverage, too high on the jawline, etc.
