WT brags about suing indigenous peoples and winning!

  I know we get a bit cynical and hard boiled about the exploits of WT Inc. but this takes the biscuit. Apparently these Ecuadorian indigenous people objected to being targeted by the sect. So WT inc rode in and guess what? They beat them in court. Apparently these people were surprised that there was a big organisation behind this small cong they felt was at fault. They learned the lesson, don't f*ck with us.

  That is bad enough but the meeting this week brags about it as good use of donated funds. Somehow they didn't mention all the millions spent in making CSA cases go away. Incredible hypocrisy.

  The answers in the meeting completely misunderstood the video thinking the WT had acted on behalf of the indigenous people. Cognitive dissonance made them mishear or misinterpret the facts.

  Oh my god these people have zero self awareness. Read the room, Watchtower. What do you think the population at large thinks of you when they hear this kind of thing?

  There was a poster on here called Orphan crow who published at lot of interesting stuff about Watchtower cynically targeting indigenous communities in their own dialects/language, because they receive big fat government grants for doing so. They get a win-win - converts & cheques with a big pat on the back from the press, oftentimes.

  But of course we know JW-dom destroys family relations & is particularly bad for close knit, traditional communities & their cultures.

  Heres the thing what I struggle to get my head around.

  The Borg always says that they promote strong family bonds. And they value life & view life as precious & sacred.

  But the moment you no longer believe in JWdom your family is to shun you and never talk to you again.

  And,,, as a JW you're supposed to carry a suicide pact in your wallet. Should you require a procedure in the hospital or in a car accident its supposed to be on you so you can die from refusing a life - saving transfusion. Even two local elders come from the HLC and watch you die.

  Tell me,,,, what dont the JWs tell people when they view life as sacred & promote strong family bonds????

  The OP brings up Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) in something that has nothing to do with it. But from what I am reading, the Jehovah's Witnesses won another court battle to safeguard their right to build a kingdom hall and preach to their neighbors. Forgive me for asking, but what's the problem here?
  
  I believe in freedom of speech (that includes preaching your none sense) and freedom of religion (that includes building your assembly hall, church, mosque, whatever). So, I don't see any problem here at all.

  In fact, good for them! Winning this court battle protects the freedoms of everyone else in that country!

  "Your Donations have Power" made much of this litigation along with building projects etc. There was no mention of the very significant sums spent in aggressive and expensive litigation relating to CSA. Surely this is relevant in any discussion about the use of donations.

  Is it not reasonable for those making the donations to have access to some unfiltered information as to what their money is buying?

  Watchtower can kiss my azz! They are the laughing stock on humanity and yet there are many who are victims or allow themselves to victimized by their BS!
