Watch Tower touts Russell's prophesying of 1914 (albeit a tad off as to the true fulfillment).

Watch Tower refers often to "The World" magazine of August 30, 1914.

Quotations from this magazine are: "Look out for 1914" and "The terrific war outbreak in Europe has fulfilled an extraordinary prophecy"

(Box on page 60 in The Proclaimers book: “Look Out for 1914!”
When World War I broke out in 1914, “The World,” then a leading newspaper in New York City, stated in its magazine section: “The terrific war outbreak in Europe has fulfilled an extraordinary prophecy. . . . ‘Look out for 1914!’ has been the cry of the hundreds of travelling evangelists, who, representing this strange creed [associated with Russell], have gone up and down the country enunciating the doctrine that ‘the Kingdom of God is at hand.’”—“The World Magazine,” August 30, 1914.)

Turns out that Russell had actually purchased the space in The World as an advertorial.

    Interesting video:

The modern WT hides the pyramid in the background of "the divine plan of the ages " poster. WT slick marketing and unethical behaviour has a well grounded history. Nothing changes just different actors.

Thanks Berrygerry for the info. The Watchtower is exposed for publicly giving itself a slap on the back since no one else would want to. It always was a devious and dishonest cult.

The Watchtower editorial writers or leaders have made it their personal agenda to make up speculative bullshit, then years later on say we now have better understanding.

Eventually they excuse their wrong proclamations and contrived bullshit when it looks they have come to their usefulness in creating attention to the literature they publish, then excuse it all by saying we have new light.

Its been realized that religious charlatans can get away with making up theological bullshit and sell it or promote it without any peer evaluation, the Watchtower Corporation was built upon false biblical theology.

The real corruption to all of this is that they force these pretentious bullshit doctrines on to its following members and if you were to openly question these doctrines to their validity, they will punish or demean these ones as being unfaithful or spiritually weak.
