Any ideas

On the carts today four of them had teaching books that were printed in 2006 do people have any ideas why ?

Yes, they are getting rid of out of print books or books that have since been revised in some way. Otherwise it would just sit behind a literature counter and eventually be dumped. When they switched from The Live Forever book to the Knowledge book our hall threw out tons of Live Forever books. They probably figure that they are saving money.

Given how little literature is "placed" during the trolley work, it is not so much "dumped" on the public as displayed for a few days before being dumped by the JWs themselves.....
