Who's right....man or God?
Think about it!
I'm not sure I get which angle you're coming from. It says:
"So the sun stood still and the moon did not move until the nation could take vengeance on its enemies. Is it not written in the book of JaŹ¹shar? The sun stood still in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to set for about a whole day."
Ok. Let me show a big contradiction to what Joshua 10: 13 says
Remember....the 'SUN' stood still. Yet we are taught the following within our education system
I read recently that astronomers believe it was an eclipse. Apparently the Hebrew word used ( aye? Maybe someone could check if they have a Strongs or interlinear, anyway it's 3 letters) is used only one other time in the Bible and can mean dark/shade something like that. They said 'stood still' is a mis-translation.
Who's right....man or God?
Man, always. OK, women too.
I don`t see how it could be interpreted to mean it`s referring to an eclipse when it`s indicating the sun was about midday and didn`t set for a whole day .
To me that says the sun was visible in the sky for 18 hours and not the usual 12 hours.
The scripture also says the moon was visible in the daylight hours also which happens and it also remained motionless in the sky
.What the Bible writer didn`t appreciate Is that the sun does not revolve around the earth and for it to apparently stand still the earth would have had to stop rotating on it` axis which would have been catastrophic for all life on earth.
It just couldn`t happen
Sun can never be stopped which means sun did not stop. If part of Joshua's account is never took place, then it may apply to rest of his accounts too.
Joshua 10:13 would make a whole lot of sense if this were the case.
I ask again. Who is telling the truth....God or man? I leave that answer to you.
