To the be read from the podium 2 weeks after the initial proposal, command from gb/branch :

We the Central hall*** congregation resolve, in the forced sale, that the hall at No. 1 first Avenue *** be bought back from WTBT Corp Inc. and continue to be used by the current members. The down payment shall be raised by a go funding campaign in the local community after appropriate publicity. The present vowed contribution to wt inc shall be used to pay the monthly mortgage fees if required.

The congregation recognizes that the much shorter travel time/distance that we now enjoy will also lessen the pollution burden that our activity with wt inc has, and would impose if we move on the environment. read Rev 11:18.

*** fill in your name of dismayed cong. .

    any amendments?

    seconded? moved?

PS: a win win win situation, wt INC gets their (your) money (again), you keep your hall, and you get your hall back to keep, you paid for it, you build it after all, it should be yours. yours truly.

Going against the WTS wishes, is going to have some negative feed back. Even if you end up being right, you are wrong to question WTS decisions. They will say they have the overall picture which an individual congregation does not have.

The WTS is the parent religious non-profit, which gives them the legal authority to dissolve any lower non-profit in its organization, in the US.

The WTBS will remove the elders and replace them with elders that will do as they're told, and sell the hall. There are decided court cases saying this is legal. A public go-fund me page to raise money to stay, will be greeted with joy by the public, who will take it as sign the JW's are leaving their community.

If the elders & members of the congregation would be that anxious & willing to disobey the "faithful and discreet slave", what would be the point of continuing to attend meetings, whose primary objective is to convince the listeners to mindlessly obey the FDS?

And if they're not going to attend meetings, why do they need a Kingdom Hall?

Sir82, you also need to go to a Kingdom Hall and give a talk. People don't just go to listen and be convinced, some go to enjoy a priviledged position and enjoy minor celebrity status. For this you need a Kingdom Hall.

I ask you to spare a thought for the poor elder who went to the Kingdom Hall to give his talk only to find he couldn't find the Hall. Why? Because it had been sold and knocked down.

Also, if you are going to cast Christians out of the synagogues, you need a synagogue.

Sir 82. and all. The point was, why should a wealthy congregation, generous contributors any way, be put to the torture (besides the meetings) of the coming hazardous long range travel to the JWorghall on Distant street, corner Far avenue?

The post was done with tongue firmly planted in cheek. should have categorized it under humour, sorry for that.
I wonder though, if and how the law does not demand that such a proposal would has to be presented heard, if introduced by an intrepid near [spiritual] death candidate?. Of course wt appointed hounders will not have the guts to propose the obvious advantage of self retro buy-back.

Jt: right! A golden opportunity is missed to alert the lead-hungry local media to alert them to an impending sale, and/or start A mock public funding campaign to speed wt Inc our of town. .

WTBTS wants the cash from the Kingdom Hall sale in addition to the monthly payments for using a place to worship.

Siegfried: exactly, and this resolution would them the cash but retain the perfect place for the ailing "sheep" A win and peace. sieg und frieden. .

WT would be livid. but Has happened before.

Br. Knorr visited a missionary home in a country where the work was restricted. The meeting and sleeping place was surreptitiously privately rented by an affluent member, not the "society" . He demurred at certain changes, and Knorr had to concede ;" well brothers, the wt society has been evicted."

Lets face it, wt is now evicting congregations. following the Golden Rule. whoever has the gold makes the rules and rules. or is the body that governs.
