We are constantly being attacked by Scam Marketers who create a perceived need , not a real one, and hence create within us a want. If we fill our desire for that thing or things by buying in to it, we then end up with totally unnecessary expense. We have been Scammed.

Whether that be something to do with the latest Fashions and Trends, the latest 'phone, car or something similar.

The longest running, and most lucrative Marketing Scam in all Human History has been Religion. Religions create a perceived need, and hence a want, for gods in our lives, and create a "sin" or "sins" that are no more real than their gods, that we need "Salvation" from. It costs us much, in the form of actual $$$, and personal cost to our Quality of Life.

The J.W religion from its start, but especially since the time of Rutherford, has used Scam Marketing.

As Mark Twain sagely observed : " Religion was invented when the first Priest met the first Gullible Fool".

Learn to identify all Scam Marketing, and you can lead a Happy, and Fulfilled life, at a much much lower cost !

Like the emperor's new clothes, which most people praise or seem to believe something that is false or of no value because they are afraid to go against the general opinion.

Our ancestors didn't understand the natural elements and explained them as gods and then science has explained these things.

Today we can read and write and have the internet to fact check almost everything especially regarding the origin of religious beliefs and religion in general and discover that the origins are man made, but because of fear of going against the general opinion and that we have been and people are still being lied too ,but people are now seeing through the controlling influence of religion and are breaking free and we are now becoming a more secular society.

. . . Most lucrative Marketing Scam in all Human History has been Religion.

I think religion was conceived by the aristocrats to give Hope to the lower classes.

The farmers, herders, peasants who scrounged just to survive and were in hopelessness needed something to give them hope. Religion told them that it was not their fault they were suffering. It was because of the evils of others. BUT, they could have a grand prospect in the future.

So it is today. Religion still promises HOPE for the future. Eternal life in Paradise (earthly or heavenly). No sickness. No death. No evil. No sorrow.

It is the scam that has worked for millenniums and continues on to this day. Yet, no evidence that anyone has been anything but scammed.

I think it developed organically, for many different reasons. And, over time, was corrupted for the benefit of those who could use it to take advantage of the people around them. Which, sadly, makes it like so many other human endeavors: business, finance, government, and so on. Created to meet a need, developed as societies grew, and abused by grifters.

The survival instinct keeps doing its thing, even when it is detrimental to the group and, therefore, the individual.

Scams are fraudulent. If you see the latest iPhone and buy it, even if you don't "need" it, and the phone is exactly as what was advertised, then you were not scammed.

If you can't afford the new iPhone, and yet you bought one anyway, perhaps sacrificing against a food budget or a clothes budget or by going into debt, then that's an inability to delay gratification. It's a personal fault, and something to work on. But you weren't scammed.

Religion is more complicated. You could probably argue, with some success, that religion in general is not what's advertised. More so with the WT, I imagine.

A major part of marketing is segmentation. Instead of a shotgun approach and trying to be all things to everyone, marketing companies realised during the 20th century that it was smarter to figure out exactly what type of person would like the particular product and focus on them. Any extras they can pick up is a bonus.

Under the umbrella of Christian, there are many segments of Christian religions, mostly similar but different products. Just like Mercedes makes different model cars that appeal to different people. All made by Mercedes but suited for different purposes.

The WT probably worked out many years ago that their brand isn't for everyone, but that's ok, as long as they focus on the ones they have and capture their children too.

This is exactly what companies do. Someone like Lego brands themselves as a cradle to the grave company, that is Lego is used by consumers from babies to old age. Loyalty to football teams is passed from parents to children. The list goes on.

Religion is here because our life span is so short.....70 or 80 plus years.

It's first victims are young people who have no idea what's going on and just go with the flow

By the time they hit 50 or 60 they realize they've been scammed by groups like the Watchtower, but it's too late, your life has been used up.

By the time you're 50-80, you're wise enough to know better and never be scammed again. And you try to pass that knowledge along but it too late, Mother Time has come calling and finally you're gone.

Young ones are born and the cycle begins all over.

If we lived a couple of millenniums, no one could scam anybody. We would know all the tricks.

Maybe it was intentional to be created this way if there was some sort of Creator or Creators.

There's only so much room in the universe for immortal beings. The more immortal beings, the more Drama. Just like humans.
