ok i saw it, the first girl heidi can across pretty well. the redhaed looked slightly drugged, good they did not give her more than a second of time. Bill was good, as usual. The piece did say that jws adimit this, but say elders are instructed to tell police , even if there is only 1 witness. Big lie.

Watched it as well. The segment claims that the W.T. acknowledges there is a problem and sent a letter to the elders advising them to go to the authorities, even if there is only one witness. Can anyone link us to this letter? Bill Bowen claims that there are 100 lawsuits pending against the W.T. It appears that it will take more than a letter to clear it. Could be a beginning of woes, especially if this only scratches the surface.

" In states that require the police be notified" Texas, where I live is one of those states, but Jesika tells me the WTS doesn't enforce this little rule. Bug

As usual, the WTS "spokesmen" talk out of both sides of their mouths. Yes, to the "right people", they will admit there's a "problem", and the victims ARE advised to take the matter to the proper authorities in state where it's mandatory, even when there is only ONE witness to the crime.

Big Flip! So if there aren't ANY witnesses, do they dismiss it as "hearsay"?

Is this like the "blood" issue or the "voting" issue? It SOUNDS good on to appease the public and their polish up their image, but doesn't mean squat when put into action.

I wonder how many of the 27,720 victims and their families would agree that THEY were treated fairly?

From what I've been told recently, the Watchtower Publishing Corporation has been filling the Brothers' heads with some garbage that ALL the abuse lawsuits against Mother have been dropped! It will be hard to explain THAT when they are asked about the "over 100 expected lawsuits" that will be comong out of the woodwork.

And as Bill said......it's only the tip of the iceberg! But then, WE get to see the "Watchtower Wiggle-Dance" again! <giggle>

GETCHER BEER AND POPCORN RIGHT HERE, FOLKS, SIT BACK

    AND WATCH THE SHOW!

I thought the segment was well-handled. The letter quoted was the one read at Service Meetings a few months back. And yes, they only instruct elders to report in states that require it.

To me, the blame seemed to be more directed to elders than to the Organization in general. It almost seems as if the Organization is content to pass the buck toward its own elders. This has come out before in various statements by WT reps like JR Brown which have been quoted here and elsewhere.

When Bill Bowen said that elders are considered the 'voice of God' or something to that effect, I thought that many jws who might be watching would say, 'see he's exaggerating!'. In a sense, I think he may have overstated the point. But, on the other hand, elders do represent the Organization's (and by extension God's) mind on matters, so they are, on that local level, the only representatives of God or the Org that people get to plead their case with. When the elders fail, it is a failure on the part of the Org, whether they care to admit it or not.

PS - Jayne Clayson is gorgeous.
