I’ve noticed that the question routine happens a lot in jw land. The last convention I attended was not where I was assigned. Even though I had a lapel card I was asked invasive questions by the attendants to confirm I was a genuine witness. They witnesses are becoming more paranoid every year.

Yes! the glassy eyes scared the crap out of me when my jw first joined up. Then I learned about cults and that it was quite normal for that to happen in cults.

Well, jeezus, with the GB dailing up the fear factor to 11, how the hell could they not?

I consider it a positive development, actually...

...increasingly paranoid groups tend to make increasingly stupider mistakes.

    Scientology has a serious rival!

Even as an ex-JW, this video genuinely gave me the heeby-jeebies. Anyone else have them?

p.s. On the other hand, it's truly heartwarming to see the level of paranoia which is being instilled into the "loving" commune at JW World Headquarters. JW Stalinism. :)

The ignorance of a JW is fanned by the ignorance of their beliefs.

As far as I know....... only the Mormons have made their special brand of ignorance...... work for them. Though it cost them dearly when the Mormon rank and file finally learned that Joseph Smith had thirty wives.

You really have to be sub par to be a believing Jehovah's Witness or a Mormon or a Christian Scientist or a Scientologist. The later two are totally dreadful religions that are thankfully dying.

So what are the sub par beliefs of the JW's.

    1. That most of mankind will be violently killed at Armageddon. Then go through another judgment a 1000 years later. Apparently God is trying to find a few righteous individuals and keeps coming up short.

    2. That a Paradise earth can be built on the bones of the dead.

    3. That the Society itself...... 7 or 8 numb nuts can administer a dead planet with a few million people who survived.

    4. That the lack of an education will make it very difficult to accomplish much of anything.

    5. Apart from petting wild animals it will be just another dark age for mankind.

    6. Suicides will be more difficult in a perfect world (that one is kinda dark).

    7. Just as always there will be nothing for the children but farm labor. When they grow up they will be as ignorant as their parents.

    8. That a perfect world is the enemy of a good world.

So weird! What are they so paranoid about? On those tours you can only go to so many places, they have the secret chambers (lol) blocked off.

JWs are going down the ideological route of the agrarian utopia which Cambodia's Pol Pot espoused. The whole population were destined to become submissive peasants and do what Pol Pot told them! It was his personal vision of the rural idyll, defying technological progress which led to tragedy.

He told Cambodia his foolish dream of a peasant paradise with "health giving" manual labour and total political unity. He isolated his country from the rest of the world, began to depopulate the cities and banned religion and private property. He aimed for complete control and submission to his will.

The end result was the death of two million people, more than a quarter of the population. Those who were at odds with the Pol Pot ideal, those who chose to differ and those who had been educated and the intellectuals were mercilessly killed.

The implementation of such ideologies always has proved to be a disaster, not only for the victims of the regime but also for the perpetrators.

JW GB: please take note and learn from history.

If I were indeed a Bible study along with my JW teacher I would have told him to turn around, get the fuck out of there, and don't call on me ever again. I've seen enough.

Honesty seems to be the first victim for some ex-JW's. "They acted paranoid we were there to video and use it for apostate purposes.... Well, you were. Ha, Ha, Ha they laughed. Act suspicious and you will be greeted with suspicion. It was disingenuous and I wasn't impressed.
