Where was Jesus (or YHWH) when little children needed them?

It is claimed by Christians that Jesus cares deeply for children, for the gospel says:

15Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (Luke 18:15-17).

So why is it then, that this supposed 'Lord of all things', will let little children suffer in any way?

But particularly so, when those who inflict the suffering claim that they are special representatives of Jesus? This is the second post on Father Gerald Ridsdale, and his associates. More horror details have emerged about his torment of young children, how can anyone maintain that 'Jesus cares', when faced with the vicious treatment, sexually and physically of these young children, that this so-called 'saviour of mankind,' has observed without action.

    Australia's SBS network reports:

In the face of these damning reports, we can conclude that either this Jesus, does not exist, or that he does not care what happened to these children.

It is not a matter of what religion is 'his' religion. It is only about the suffering of small children and the failure of Jesus to take action to protect them.

And not to diminish or take away from your post fulltimestudent , thank you for highlighting it ,this case against Risdale and Co,here in Australia is only the tip, of the tip, of the iceberg .

Its apparently endemic around the world , and not just from what we would normally call low-lifes ,but includes people in high places in society , politicians , Judges in law enforcement ,well documented religious hierearchy individuals, sporting clubs officials, coaches and trainers ,the list goes on and on .

So it does beg the question : Was jesus just spouting off at the mouth ? Does he really care ?

Its been 2000 years since Jesus was on earth , the plight of children has never been so bad in all human history as it is today .

Abuse of children around the world is pandemic ,and their is no GOD no JESUS to protect them .

They havent for the past 2000 years , so why would you believe they will do so now.?

It is up to us to stick up for the young children by at least speaking out against these abuses where we can.

Thank you for starting this post fts

Well, at least Jesus and Dad were quick to feed a bunch of kids to a bear when they got snarky with an old bald dude. Sometimes swift action is possible.

To have faith, one must turn a blind eye to Theodicy and accept that creating and allowing evil to remain is loving. I call this psychotic. There is no normal human father who would stand idly by while his child is starving or ill or being harmed by someone else. Reason and Logic must be abandoned to have faith.

Isaiah 45:7: "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." - KJ

Psalm 137:9: "Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks." - NIV

"Jesus loves the little children, all the little children of the world. Whether yellow, black or white, they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world."

    Until he doesn't:

Rev. 14: 14Then I saw a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was someone like the Son of Man.c He had a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

15Then another angel came from the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Swing the sickle, for the time of harvest has come; the crop on earth is ripe.” 16So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the whole earth was harvested.

17After that, another angel came from the Temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18Then another angel, who had power to destroy with fire, came from the altar. He shouted to the angel with the sharp sickle, “Swing your sickle now to gather the clusters of grapes from the vines of the earth, for they are ripe for judgment.” 19So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and loaded the grapes into the great winepress of God’s wrath. 20The grapes were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.

Christians have a habit of putting the Old testament GOD on the back burner as if he is not the same GOD as the new testament GOD.

They ignore the fact that the Bible says that GOD does not change , he is the same, today as he was yesterday , and will be the same again tomorrow.

The majority, if not all, reputable Bible Scholars recognise the GOD of the Old Testament as a warring bloodthirsty GOD.

Which brings us to DJS `s post

Christians also have a habit of cherry picking Jesus as a loving caring forgiving person ,overlooking the fact that he worshipped and condoned everything GOD his father ever did and will yet do to mankind in the future.

As is described in the scriptures DJS quotes

And if you need further evidence where was Jesus when all the atrocities were committed in GODs name for the past 2000 years, against children and Adults.

Where has Jesus been protecting children in Jehovahs Witness Kingdom Halls this past 100 + years against Child Sexual Abuse covered up by Elders and the Governing Body.that is now being exposed by the ARC, Aust. , the Goddard report UK ,the court cases in Spain, in Europe , The USA just ,to name a few.

    smiddy, excellent post.

I have observed throughout my whole life, the Christian method of shifting the goal posts and avoiding the unpleasant scriptures to prop up their "Jesus be da man" stance. We have seen this with the Christians who frequent this site, not to mention the ones we have in our personal lives.

I don't buy into it when Jesus stated himself that one of his goals was to break up families at Matthew 10:35. I just stop there and walk away. I can't buy into the whole God and Jesus are love thing anymore. Particularly when I have experienced my own family breaking apart due to our parents unwavering belief that mythology is truth and that invisible, silent, male gendered sky fairies are more important than one's own flesh and blood.
