Hilarious! They look like two stoners who stay in bed all day who barely made it to the door to answer the Witnesses. The music is pretty good, though!
It reminds me of the shock of seeing the Watchtower in a picture of Huey "Piano" Smith in the original Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock n Roll. Now that brother could play!
The Awake! cover headline screams, "Is It Later Than You Think?"
I guess we should tarry no more and answer that timeless question. Almost 50 years later, we can say with confidence, "No it is NOT later than we think". I was a kid in 1968 and am now staring at retirement - now that is not later than I think.
Even the JWs have moved on. Seldom, if ever, do the magazines' headlines scream urgency these days.
BTW, Maria Muldaur surely had one of the loveliest, lilting voices in modern music. I bought her first two records - and they were well played. I think I will get them out again, dust them off and play them.
