You have to have the right position, or should we say, disposition of heart, for the holy spirit to act upon you. The spirit is there, but if you don't let it act upon you, you won't go anywhere.
the wind is against you. you never sail into wind... you go diagonally or accross.
is not the direction of the wind... is the set of the sail.
so its the skill of the sailor that gets you places.
Do you mean that they are emphasizing that you have to "tack" to go forward? As in "we get to swerve back and forth in our teachings to go straight?" Or are you trying to formulate an answer to counter it?
Not directly into, but a few points off, tacking, but not just downwind like the picture. That Acts account was a shipwreck from the wind, I didnt " study" to notice that earlier

dofp: yes, that was an old illustration wt used in the 60s to their regret, about going all ever the place with their doctrinal changes. actually going against he holy spirit pneuma.
This sailor today is going down wind, question is why he keeps the spinnaker furled, not getting the full force.
Of course steering such a course you can never go faster than the wind, but in other tacks it is easy.
windbag commenting was at a lot of hot air.
Maybe they should skip the sail/wind illustrations...they usually are completely ignorant...
I forget not everyone has to read tge articles. The lesson was supposed to be the holy spirit is like the wind pushing you in the right direction. That why i thought the scripture from acts was so odd to use
?usually ignorant?
Joke-hova's butt-holy spirit is set up intentionally to shipwreck everyone. It has already shipwrecked the whole planet--we see this in all the problems we have, and that no one tolerates calling out the true source of such problems. (It is even illegal to do so in most countries.) We have churches being called out for major crimes, yet why are they not being shut down? We have rituals in all three major religions that deliberately harm animals and people, including children--yet they are the only ones allowed through the whole world.
Not to mention the same "God's chosen" control 100% of the media, all our money, and all our companies. They have claimed ownership of all resources on the earth, and ban people from finding non-polluting, endless sources of such (and blame the common people for the pollution and resource depletion). This is joke-hova's butt-holy spirit at work, protecting joke-hova from the consequences of its actions while exposing everyone else to a shipwreck that will be impossible to be rescued from.
Maybe, had we did a nice Chinese gybe a few years ago, this whole mess would have been avoided and we could have reclaimed the earth and its resources (and properly taken care of them). World War III could have been avoided. Yes, as with a Chinese gybe on a boat, it is rough while it happens. But, the parasites would have ended up in the water and the earth could have been set free from the butt-holy spirit instead of on an "island" that makes Gilligan's Island look like a picnic.
