Well... I am in a hotel room right now on someone elses computer. Thought I would give you all an update. I am tired. They taught us how to march today, then we marched halfway around the world. Its been great though. We were originaly told that we would be going to a range with everyone else from our Unit but because we have not been to basic yet or AIT training, we have to stay at the armory and participate in a new program.

While on one of my marches though I turned my ankle over again. I already sprained the hell out of it on Thursday and I did it again today. One of the Sgt. wanted to check it out but I insisted that it was ok. If the injury is bad enough I might be medicaly discharged but I wont say anything and push on through. I will take care of it when I get home.

Good news though!!! I was named one of 4 squad leaders!!! w00t! Looks good on my records and as we are competing for some prizes, I am sure that will be a feather on my cap. I have been smoked only once and that is because they caught us smoking. hehehe 10 pushups and thats all. Not bad as there are some others that are getting smoked for screwing up. So far I havent though.

We are supposed to do Physical Training tommorow but as I didnt bring any running shoes (because we were all told that we would be on a range, therefore we wouldnt need anything but our issued uniforms) I am being excused from PT. That is great because I dont think my ankle would agree with running 2 miles under 17 minutes. I am sure I will ge some grunt work to do but its better than taking a chance on messing up my ankle more than it is.

That is about all I have for you so far. I will keep you all informed!

    Hooah!

if you are a good squad leader your squad will hate you if you are a bad one you will feel the wrath of your drill instructor for everyone's mistakes. but since you are not really in basic yet that might not be true, I would avoid leadership postions in basic. it didnt help anyone i know, they were just the most hated people in tech school.

    Pr_Capone: wishing you well.

Keep an eye out on that ankle. Weak ankles are a curse, I know, I suffer from them.

If I run any great length of time, I am almost certain to sprain it or kind of walk on the side of my foot, which hurts like hell. Be careful.

Take it easy, and quit sneakin' smokes. Tsk-tsk! these young lads, I swear. You'll burn the mess hall down if you're not careful. I think I'll have to find all my old Sad Sack comic books, and send them to you.

    Best wishes, ol' Rayzorblade

PR, I've went thru basic training, and believe me, the process will put a strain on strong ankles, so check yours out with a doctor and make sure you are doing everything possible to heal that sprain. Best wishes and keep us informed. Bug
