Not official representatives?

Just copying this article from a US newspaper website. It was the section of the article that said, "

When a reporter asks about Jehovah's Witness beliefs, a church elder refers her to the website jw.org, explaining that the Quinoneses and Wellses aren't official church spokespersons."

So despite the fact that they were baptised as MINISTERS and are REPRESENTING Jehovah and ADVERTISING the Kingdom from door to door, they are NOT actually spokespeople for the (church) congregation.

Makes you wonder why they bother going out!

They weren't asked if they were the official spokesmen for the organization, they were asked what their beliefs are. As per usual, their beliefs are based on emotion (fear obligation guilt) rather than on facts and they are unable to explain why they are doing what they are doing.

It's nice for them that they can be so casual and cavalier these days. They seem to be promoting a way of life ("the best life ever") rather than out there with an "urgent life saving message" doing whatever it takes to get the word out, because peoples lives are at stake and their time is at hand.

They've basically become another mainstream fundamentalist religion and we'll always have trouble with the ways of the current JW's as long as we look at the organization through the eyes of those who learned the "Truth" in decades past.

The church is pacifist, so members do not bear arms in the military. It advocates disaster relief, charitable work and combating climate change. The door-to-door mission work is its most famous feature and perhaps the venue where members social skills are tested most thoroughly.

Well that`s not entirely strictly correct , JW`s are not pacifists because they do believe in warfare ,it`s just that they themselves do not participate in it.

They firmly believe in the war of God the Almighty at Armageddon and they fully support it.

So you couldn`t call them pacifists.

It advocates disaster relief ? Only to members of JW`s and if the member has an insurance policy the amount paid goes back to the JW/WT religion.

Charitable work ? Only towards Jehovah`s witnesses if ever ,definetely not to anyone who is not a JW.

Combating climate change ? You have to be kidding me , When, where.how ?

The D2D mission work where social skills are tested most thoroughly.

Where they keep referring you to JW.ORG when they can`t answer a question.

If you recall the testimony of Geoffrey Jackson during the ARC, he basically tried to say that he was not a "spokesman" (or decision maker) for the Organization. Just worked in the translation department, I believe.

Angus chewed him up and spit him out. Angus new more about organizational procedure than most Elders or CO's. And that's the way most of these high priced lawyers are getting to be. They are learning the "ins-and-outs" of WT double-speak. They are being provided copies of "confidential" information. Elders who are called to testify and defend WT policy leave red-faced with their "tail between their legs".
