Has anyone heard of "The organization for the advancement of blood development". The watchtower apparently received an award from these people and I was wondering if it is operated by the org.

Who knows? They very well may have. My mom always makes it a point to tell me about how much the medical community is indebted to the jw's. It seems that the jw's attend these conferences at various hospitals who are interested in bloodless surgery. Apparently, the doctors give credit to the jw's for leading scientists into researching bloodless surgery because doctors were so frustrated with seeing patients (jws) die due to their blood policy. The doctors will readily admit that if bloodless surgery can be used it is far less risky than using human blood. I will be the first to admit that bloodless surgery would be better than using blood. Maybe someday it will be so. What the jw's don't grasp is that in the meantime people are dying because of their hypocrital blood fraction rules. While it true that many people could be free from the risk involved (various viruses) from using blood products....the wt won't admit that they are at just as much risk by allowing fractions. God desires mercy and not sacrifice (Matt 12) If the watchtower knew God then they would not condemn the guiltless. I am sure that many wonderful discoveries have been made because there was a need to help someone before.

The wt would never admit that these doctors and these scientists who researched bloodless surgery.....are evil wordly satan worshippers who have birthdays and go to churches on Easter morning and maybe even accept the trinity or give gifts to the poor on Christmas or eat bbq on the 4th of july and own wind chimes and pray to the Father or Lord or maybe even they've had a transfusion themselves or atleast given one to someone else or salute the flag or have been in a war or even voted in an election or what if they worship Jesus or believe that He died for their sins and is their mediator or give flowers to mom on mother's day and honor their dad on father's day or even give thanks to God for the harvest on Thanksgiving while they watch football...... Who is it that acted in love? The wt with their rules or the people who took pity on them and desired to help them by researching bloodless surgery to help maybe save their life or the life of one of their children one day? Who obeyed the command to love thy neighbor? Of course the watchtower will take the credit though..... and announce it in the magazines to boast about all the good they have done....nevermind all the dead children, that was before. dj

The actual name of the group, according to the official Jehovah's Witness site (see Media) is the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management. Check
