The Watchtower May 1, 1922 - FAITHFULNESS IS LOYALTY

"To be faithful means to be loyal. To be loyal to the Lord means to be obedient to the Lord. To abandon or repudiate the Lord’s chosen instrument means to abandon or repudiate the Lord himself, upon the principle that he who rejects the servant sent by the Master thereby rejects the Master. There is no one man present today who can honestly say that he received a knowledge of the divine plan from any source other than by the ministry of Brother Russell, either directly or indirectly. Through his prophet Ezekiel, Jehovah foreshadowed the office of a servant, designating him as one clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side, who was delegated to go throughout the city (Christendom) and comfort those that sighed by enlightening their minds relative to God’s great plan. He noted that this was a favor bestowed not by man, but by the Lord himself. But in keeping with the Lord’s arrangement he used a man. The man who filled that office, by the Lord’s grace, was Brother Russell. Jesus dearly indicated that during his second presence he would have amongst the church a faithful and wise servant, through whom he would give to the household of faith meat in due season. The evidence is overwhelming concerning the Lord’s second presence, the time of the harvest, and that the office of "that servant” has been filled by Brother Russell. This is not man-worship by any means. It matters not who Charles T. Russell was—whether he was a doctor, a hod-carrier or a seller of shirts. St. Peter was a fisherman; St. Paul a lawyer. But these matters are immaterial. Above all, these men were the chosen vessels of the Lord. Regardless of his earthly avocation, above all, Brother Russell was the Lord’s servant. Then to repudiate him and his work is equivalent to a repudiation of the Lord, upon the principle heretofore announced."

If any JW today denies that Russell was the "slave" and rejects his writings, not only are they anti-Christ, they're also rejecting what the "genuine" slave said in 1922.

Obedience to the cult was even paramount 103 years ago.

Perhaps a "new light" will adjust this teaching.

w14 1/15 - 6 Jesus then used his kingly authority to appoint a “faithful and discreet slave.” This slave would provide a regular supply of wholesome spiritual food to all who make up the “one flock” under Jesus’ care. (Matt. 24:45-47; John 10:16) Since 1919, a small group of anointed brothers have loyally carried out the weighty responsibility to feed the “domestics.”
w17 February - 10 In 1919, three years after Brother Russell’s death, Jesus appointed “the faithful and discreet slave.” For what purpose? To give his domestics “food at the proper time.” (Matt. 24:45) Even in those early years, a small group of anointed brothers who served at headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, prepared and distributed spiritual food to Jesus’ followers.

So, CTR was appointed by Jesus to be the F&DS says the F&DS of 1922 who was appointed the F&DS by Jesus in 1919...

And there were a group a men doing the work of the F&DS before Jesus appointed a group of men in 1919 to be the F&DS.

"Jesus clearly indicated" and "the evidence is overwhelming."

Looks like Jesus let the WTS down again. Can't he do anything right???

    2)all the anointed since...to 2013

    3) the governing body....since 2013 to...

I like how the cult says,

"This is not man-worship by any means." Then offers no reason as to why it's not.

The only thing I learned from this article is this.

Hod: A three-sided box with a long pole that allows the carrier to rest the load on their shoulder, used on construction sites.
