They’ll call us apostates. But really, we just had the courage to think for ourselves. This video unpacks the 2025 JW convention and why leaving, questioning and speaking up doesn’t make you lost or a bad person. It means you woke up.

Those of us who left many years ago strictly CANNOT be termed "Apostates", as we did not "stand aside" from what they currently teach.

If you left before the ludicrous "overlapping generation" twaddle for example, you spent no part of your life seemingly supporting that.

We old leavers are no more Apostates than current J.W's, who have "stood aside" from what was formerly taught, and swallowed whole the current total B.S.

The funny thing is that J.W's, under the Mind Control, simply cannot take on board the reality that we woke up and left because they are NOT teaching truth.

They make up all sorts of other reasons why you left, if like me, there was no "Sin", I did not take up a life of sin after leaving, so why did I leave ?

One hilarious rumour that went around about me was that I had left to start my own religion ! I laughed when I heard that, and said " What a great idea, there is money in that !".

With all the organizational changes over the years, I say: I did not left jw.org, but jw.org left me.

For JWs, the important thing is not that the GB had something right or wrong. The important thing is that they accepted whatever was being told to them and did not challenge it, even if they did not agree with it. They must accept that Jehovah will frequently mislead his people by giving the GB the wrong information or knowledge.

If you come to the perfectly reasonable conclusion that a group of men who have to constantly correct themselves may not be getting their information direct from God... you are an apostate. An opposer. An enemy. You are the one type of person they cannot allow in their community, and you must be removed before you can spread your dangerous ideas.

“…we just had the courage to think for ourselves…”

By the WTS’s internal logic, that’s “apostasy”.

They must accept that Jehovah will [very, very] frequently mislead his people by giving the GB the wrong information or knowledge. (I fixed that omission for you.)
If you come to the perfectly reasonable conclusion that a group of men who have to constantly correct themselves may not be getting their information direct from God... you are an apostate.

Of course, they are not infallible nor inspired and they admitted in writing in the WT rag that they can "make mistakes in doctrine and organizational direction" and at the Annual Meeting they admitted sometimes often "they simply DO NOT KNOW".

    Deut 18:20-22

20 But any prophet who falsely claims to speak in my name or who speaks in the name of another god must die.’

21 “But you may wonder, ‘How will we know whether or not a prophecy is from the Lord?’ 22 If the prophet speaks in the Lord’s name but his prediction does not happen or come true, you will know that the Lord did not give that message. That prophet has spoken without my authority and need not be feared.
