This is something I just felt like writing.... thought I would share. Not very good but then I am also no Walt Whitman.
I felt lost not long ago
No parents to turn to
No God to talk to
Nowhere to go
I was the bad son
No longer wanted the “truth”
I was disowned
I had wasted my youth
I no longer have faith
In no “God” I believe
In my times of stress
Nowhere I find relief
I lost all my friends
All but just two
Neither of them witnesses
But they are undoubtedly true
I’m doing much better now
Than a year ago
I can talk to my brother again
I will not let him go
I’ve rebuilt my life
With new goals to achieve
Not “Servant” or Elder”
But in ones I believe
I have family again
Its something I’ve missed
Its nice to go home
And be hugged and be kissed
I have new friends now
Much better than those
Who threw me away
And thumbed up their nose
I have a purpose in life
To serve and protect
This great nation I live in
To show it honor and respect
I have made several changes
To my every day life
To do what’s best for me
Is for what I now strive

pr, I am glad it posted. So many of us feel that way. I am glad you have been able to regain at least part of your family. I am fortunate in that most of mine are out now. You definately learn not to take to take them for granted.
