A reflection on the importance of acknowledging that we can all be manipulated.

This is an excellent presentation on the problems with leaving the group, problems with disagreeing with the group, why recruiting children is important to religions.

    Did you notice what was said at the 14:15 mark;

Adult recruitment are more of a bonus than a necessity for major religions who are guarantee a steady influx of child recruits

This gives us the reason why the WT is not to concern about new adults members coming into the organization or why they don’t give a hoot when adult members leave the organization.

The “Child Recruits” are what is keeping the Organization’s head above water. These young children who are baptized at 6 to 16 years of age will finance the Organization for the next 30 years before they wake up. Once they wake up to ttatt, who cares if they leave and get disfellowshipped, a new batch of “Child Recruits” is on the way.

According to the video, adult recruitment is a bonus but not necessary for the WT Organization to thrive, Child Recruits is what keeps them going.

Very interesting and thought provoking! Thanks for posting it. I've already forwarded it to a couple of friends who I thought could grasp what it is saying without taking personal offense.

    We'll see...

    ????

30 years from now, those kids will be in their 30's and 40's.

If still in the WT organization, they will have skipped college and will be working menial jobs with little income to spare for WTS donations.

Not to mention that most of them will be in 3rd world nations.

How exactly are those guys going to "finance" anything?

The GB have no long term solution to their short term problem of lack of funds and law suits. They are too stubborn to start to recommend higher education. But where do they think they're going to be in 30/40 yrs. They obviously don't care about the long term survival of the WT.

I can see new leaders coming in and changing things, afraid I can't see the collapse of the WT

Dovetails nicely with The Third's the recent push to get 'em baptized young...

John Aquila, while they would never admit to such a thing, I do tend to think that recruiting is not really a think they are after right now. They are trying to have retention of members and get donations from members. They know that recruitment costs money in literature and they are not really able to spend money right now. Children recruitment is definitely very much their focus just to keep some getting baptized at assembly halls.

under the radar, glad to help. I hope it helps your friends.

sir82, they have painted themselves into a corner with poor recruitment and encouragement to stay poor among members.

KateWild, I tend to agree. Current leaders are in crisis mode. Someone will change everything eventually.

    Vidiot, very true.
