If I pay a ransom do I get my money back?
Jesus' paid the price (ransom) but he got his life back.
He was dead like 6.41e-13 years of his long life.

It's a sacrifice of the physical for the spiritual.

Some different interpretations:
He gave up his human life ... so went back to being an immortal super-being and getting universal rulership in return. He then misled people by claiming he'd been resurrected as a human (i.e. rebuilding the "temple" of his body in 3 days, showing holes in his hands etc...)
He did come back as a human (so really sacrificed nothing apart from a few days - people have been on a pub crawl and slept for longer). Which means "what sacrifice"?
In both cases, he told porky pies.
Wasn't daddy supposed to hate liars?
