I was surprised no one commented on Survivor after Sunday's finale.
Were you surprised that Jenna won? I sure was. It should have been Matt or Rob. They worked the hardest at it. If she had strategy it was sure not obvious. I think it became a "give it to the pretty girl" competition in the end.
What a rip! She bitched and moaned and cried and whined and then she wins. With all but one vote! What the hell did Matt do to piss everybody off? Just cause he's psycho? Rob was a snake in the grass. I'm surprised he got as far as he did. And then Christy, who swore her "evil step sisters would not win", ends up voting for Jenna. Geez.
I have not watched Survivor since I got pissed off at the first one. Then I get caught up in this one. I swear I ain't watchin the next one.

Survivor was one of the first so-called reality (even though nothing about these shows is real or resembles "real" life) shows and it was a hot commodity three years ago. What was this? Survivor 4 or 5?
It has lost it's luster. In the wake of a thousand clone shows (even Celebrity in the Amazon, how amusing) it has just become regarded as old news.

As long as it's making money (which it does very nicely), you'll continue to see it.
As far as the show... Jenna did NOT deserve to win. I was thinking about it, and my humble theory is that after Heidi got X'd, she probably did a sales job on the rest of the jury behind the scenes.... probably something like ... "Jenna's mom has cancer, she's an only child....Matt really doesn't need the money... he's a good guy and was only in it for the challenge...Jenna could really use it in helping her mom". I think the jury took a pity vote, and as it turned out, Matt didn't seem to mind.
I do not think many people care.

I don't know where the first was since I didn't watch it. Second was Australia, third was in Africa, fourth the Marquesas, fifth was Thailand and six was Amazon. Seven will be the Pearl Islands in Panama.
Survivor is here for awhile Reborn. Start watching it so you know what you are talking about.
For the record, I agree Jenna did nothing to deserve it. If it was a pity vote then they all deserved to lose and at least Matt won $100,000 and a new car. He seemed like he only did it for the adventure so what the hell? He also got to have Jenna all over him on the finale. They were like a big survivor pretzel.

My husband agrees with you, Reborn, and calls it "cheap television". He can't understand how anyone finds it entertaining. I keep reminding him I never say that to him when he is watching game after game after game of any sporting event they televise. (not really, but he watches as many as he can)
I think Survivor has a few more runs................it is extremely popular.
American Idol is the most watched televsion show of all time. I heard that yesterday. So, reality shows are going to be around for awhile.

Survivor is run internationally if I am not mistaken. People can view it in the United States, Australia, and China as examples.
Just in United States households, 21,000,000 out of 270,000,000 is less than 1 out of 10.
If you count the global demographic, 21 million out of several billion (yes, with a B) with access to the program.. 1 out of every 300+ ?
